This list was created by searching the internet for sites about CHDs and then simplifying and combining all the information into one page. This list was not created by a doctor, and is for informational purposes only.
THE HEART INSTITUTE FOR CHILDREN
The Heart Institute for Children (THIC)is dedicated to clinical excellence, education and research in the field of congenital and acquired heart disease in children and young adults. Clinical care includes the latest and the most advanced technology. Research is directed towards clinical cardiology as well as basic molecular biology.
Sister by Heart
Sisters by Heart is a HLHS support website run by heart moms. “We walk this heart path with our spouses, special heart children, non-heart siblings and each other. We are an ever-growing family. We are volunteers. And, it is our HEARTS' desire that our journeys will bring you guidance and HOPE in yours.”
The Dr. Mani Children Heart Foundation is a non-profit Trust created to raise awareness about Congenital Heart Defects and to raise funds to sponsor life-saving heart surgery for children from under-privileged families suffering from congenital heart disease.
C.H.I.N. is an international organization that provides reliable information, support services and resources to families of children with congenital heart defects and acquired heart disease, adults with congenital heart defects, and the professionals who work with them.
“Circle of Hearts” is an online fundraising and awareness campaign designed to educate friends and family about Congenital Heart Defects, and raise money to support the programs and services provided by The Congenital Heart Information Network.
CONGENITAL HEART DISEASE & CARDIOLOGY FORUM
Heart and Coeur is an organization that provides information, support services, assistance to families of children with congenital heart defects and acquired heart disease, adults with congenital heart defects, and the professionals who work with them.
For many parents, hearing the heartbeat of their unborn child becomes their first, loving bond to that child. It's no wonder, then, that discovering that their child has a heart defect, whether diagnosed in the womb, shortly after birth or during childhood, can be devastating. Mended Little Hearts, a support program for parents of children with heart defects and heart disease, is dedicated to inspiring hope in those who care for the littlest heart patients of all. Mended Little Hearts offers resources and a caring support network as families find answers and move forward to find healing and hope.
It's My Heart
It's My Heart is a free 2004 resource book for patients and families affected by congenital heart defects. In plain, understandable language It's My Heart provides descriptions of the types of congenital heart defects and acquired pediatric heart conditions your child may face. Along with explanations of the various tests, surgical procedures, and treatments for CHD's, this book also contains helpful diagrams, a glossary of medical terms, and much, much more. It's My Heart was developed over a number of years by a dedicated group of doctors, nurses and parents in a collaborative effort spearheaded by The Children's Heart Foundation.

Raising awareness is important because not only are most people unaware of CHD, the more awareness we raise, the more likely it is that people will give money to CHD research, which could improve the lives of our children and adults living with CHD. The Congenital Heart Center at U of MI C.S. Motts Children’s Hospital offers state of the art diagnostic and treatment facilities. As an international referral center for children with complex congenital heart problems, approximately 850 heart operations are performed here each year.

Ronald McDonald House Charities
Many families travel far from home to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children. Often, it can be a long time to be away from home, or to divide a family. The Ronald McDonald House program provides a “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost. Often steps away from a pediatric or intensive care unit, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms offer a place to rest and regroup close to their hospitalized child.

We purchased over 100 books called “The Angel with the Golden Glow” I have sent almost 20 out other families who have lost a child & the rest we are donating to U of MI hospital. What a sweet children’s book that we even find comforting to read. A heart family we know from email (littlehearts.org) sent it to us (thank you again Lois).
